African Port Projects, Challenges and Opportunities

IQPC is pleased to announce that due to popular demand and the immense success of our inaugural Dredging Africa event, we will be holding Dredging & Port Expansion Africa 2013 from 11-14 February, 2013. The host city will again be Durban, and this time the focus will be squarely on Africa north of the Limpopo – that is in addition to again covering South Africa’s dredging and port expansion plans and projects in detail.

Dredging & Port Expansion Africa 2013 is the only event of its kind on the African continent, and is the essential gathering of maintenance and capital dredging and port construction and development thought-leaders from around the continent and the world. With exciting new port construction projects underway or in planning in Mozambique, Angola, Djibouti, Kenya and elsewhere, this is certainly an exciting and challenging time in the industry – and this event is your chance to get in on the action! At Dredging & Port Expansion Africa 2013 you will hear exclusive case studies from South, East and West Africa, in addition to international keynote addresses and talks from the major dredging contractors. With 20+ speakers from around the world and from numerous African countries, Dredging & Port Expansion Africa 2013 is an absolutely must-attend event.

The conference will again be your opportunity to get the latest insight from the key stakeholders including Ports, Port Authorities, Dredging Contractors, Environmental Consultants, Oil & Gas and Mining Companies and Government Environmental Authorities.

The event will highlight:

  • The latest dredging techniques and technologies, particularly innovations in equipment
  • Completing dredging projects on time and within budget – what are the leading firms doing to ensure success?
  • Major port construction and expansion projects requiring dredging happening on the African continent
  • Dredging in ‘non-traditional’ industries such as mining
  • How long-term trends in ship-sizes affect port planning

Some of the rave reviews from 2012

“Excellent and very informative conference”
– Tayob Adamo, Executive Chairman, Emodraga
“I must thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak at Dredging Africa 2012. I also learned a great deal, and it was good to interact with others in what is a fairly small community world wide. I must commend you on the organisation of the conference, it really went very slickly.”
- Chris Matchett , Ex-Resident Engineer, Port of Ngqura, Transnet
